Behind The Seams Fashion Show with Valencienne Bridal

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure to plan and coordinate the inaugural fashion show for Valencienne Bridal at their store.  Top wedding planners in Toronto were invited to attend and learn about the process of how a couture wedding dress is born from start to finish.   When it comes to custom wedding dresses, they are more affordable than you think.  Valencienne’s custom dresses start at $3000+ and they can go up to $10,000.  Everything is measured precisely to fit your body.  The price of the dress is based on the style and the materials chosen.   Wedding dress shopping is fun, but if you can’t find a wedding dress after hitting 4-5 bridal stores, it can get exhausting and stressful.  Half of our brides decide to go with a custom wedding dress after exploring their options. Most of the time they found themselves liking the neckline of Dress A, bottom of Dress B dress and details of Dress C but not a dress that has everything that they like.

Here are some behind the scenes photos from our event:

Also a big shoutout to Paper & Poste for the beautiful invitations that you made for this event.

Anime, our wonderful host and DJ kicked off the evening in one of Valencienne’s dress.  It was both educational and fun to see Kim’s collection and learn about the couture wedding dress design process.  She even demonstrated how a dress was made in live.

We also put on our very own fashion show as well.  Most of us changed into wedding dresses and partied for the rest of the evening.  It was definitely the party of the year.

We also had a lot of amazing gifts in our swag bags for our attending wedding planners.  Succulent Chocolate provided a live Smash bar Station where they do a live painting on the chocolate slab and smash it for takeaways.

Thank you Anthony Manieri for being our event photographer and Raw Media as our event videographer.  We will definitely host more fashion shows for Toronto brides once we can get together again.

Hope you enjoy our snippet of the event.

POV: you’re supposed to be enjoying teamLab Planets… but your event planner brain won’t switch off. 😂

The projections. The music. The scent. The movement. The way every room makes you feel something.

I went for the experience and left thinking about the future of weddings and events.

Because what if the next big event trend isn’t more décor… but creating a world your guests can actually step into? 👀✨

Are immersive projections about to have their moment in events?

Wedding planner content: lighting candles, fixing menus and casually walking around looking put together. ✨

The reality? That’s probably 10% of the job. 😂

The other 90% is happening behind the scenes — nonstop texts and phone calls, weather decisions, last-minute changes, communicating with vendors before they arrive, adjusting timelines and solving things before our couples ever know there was a problem.

Those moments are rarely captured because… well, we’re usually too busy doing them.

So shoutout to Garbo for catching some of the real action at Amy & Brian’s wedding. 🤍

This is what wedding planning actually looks like.

A day in the life of a wedding planner ✨ Amy & Brian’s wedding day edition.

We went back and forth on the rain plan more times than I’d like to admit 🌧️☀️ — but in the end, the weather gave us the most beautiful golden hour, followed by fireworks to close out the night. 🎆

One of my favourite parts of this wedding was bringing a full Chinese catering experience into a venue that doesn’t host this style of service often. It takes a lot of coordination behind the scenes — between the venue, caterer, kitchen, rentals and our planning team — to make everything flow seamlessly.

And this is exactly the kind of challenge I love. When everyone comes together with professionalism, flexibility and a shared goal of creating the best experience for the couple and their guests, magic happens.

Congratulations Amy & Brian! ❤️

People often ask what I notice first when I arrive at a venue.
It isn’t the flowers.
Or the view.
It’s how every piece comes together to create a feeling.

Before every destination wedding, I always thinking about:
• How guests will experience the ceremony
• Where the light falls
• The flow of the space
• The details no one notices—until they’re missing

This is what a wedding looks like through a planner’s eyes.

Save this if you love seeing what happens before the celebration begins.
