Sophisticated Art Deco Chinese Black Tie Wedding in Toronto

Amy and Kiet’s wedding was a total reflection of their style, personalities and great taste.  This now New-Yorker couple definitely knows how to throw a party for 350 guests and making sure everyone had a great time.  An intimate backyard wedding ceremony was held a day prior to the celebration so they could spend quality time with their close friends and loved ones.

Their wedding day started off with a romantic reveal at the Graydon Hall Manor where they saw each other the first time in full wedding attire.  The day progressed with plenty of photography as well as a Chinese tea ceremony and reception at Eglinton Grand.  There were 70 family members invited to the tea ceremony, which broke our team’s record with the most family-attended tea ceremony we’ve ever planned and facilitated.   After the tea ceremony, the guests are ushered to the cocktail reception.

The couple wanted to enhance the art deco ballroom by incorporating more Chinese elements in the design.  Red mokuba orchids were used as centrepieces.  Instead of a traditional head table, they opted for a harvest table where both immediate families are seated together creating a focal point in the room.  Amy had commissioned a comic artist to create a one-page comic for Kiet as a wedding gift and was based on their love story.  Details of the comic strip were added to the stirring rods as well as the guestbook, telling the story of the couple.  The dance floor was packed once the talented DJ Lissa Monet started spinning and guests were treated to various wok stations in the late evening to fuel up from all the dancing.

Winning WPIC Destination Wedding Planner of the Year feels especially meaningful this year. This journey started with my own wedding in Italy 16 years ago. With such a distinguished panel of judges, this recognition carries a quiet weight — one that I hold with deep gratitude.

Behind every destination wedding week abroad is not just design and logistics, but a family making it possible.

To my husband — who holds everything together at home while I travel — and to the grandmas who step in with endless love… this honour belongs to you too.

To my clients: thank you for trusting me with your most intimate celebrations, far from home. To be welcomed into your wedding world abroad is the greatest privilege of my work.

And to my fellow planners and creative partners around the world — your generosity, collaboration, and kindness are what elevate this industry we love.

This award is shared. 🤍

Trruly honoured to be nominated for the WEMA Circle Awards 🤍
This one feels different.

After years of building celebrations across cultures, borders, and generations, being recognised on a global stage that values integrity, craftsmanship, and intention means more than I can say. No politics. No pay-to-play. Just real work, seen and acknowledged by peers who understand what goes into every detail behind the scenes.

WEMA represents the kind of industry I believe in — inclusive, global, and rooted in respect for both the craft and the people who pour their hearts into it.

Grateful to stand alongside wedding professionals around the world who continue to raise the bar with purpose, care, and authenticity.

Closing out 2025 with a full heart ❤️

A year of adventures ✈️, travel 🌍, timelines 📋, and weddings 💍 across cities and borders.

Grateful beyond words 🙏 for the trust of our clients, the support of incredible vendors 🤝, and the friendships 💫 that carried me through every challenge.

Being entrusted with my couples’ most meaningful life moments is something I never take it for granted 🤍

This year stretched my creativity, tested my logistics skills, and pushed me past what I thought was possible — and somehow, I always made it to the other side 💪✨

None of this would be possible without the unwavering love and support of my family 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season 🎄✨ and a beautiful start to 2026 🥂
